The mirror housing has loosened up on the pivot point such that it vibrates enough to make it difficult to use. It isn't going to get any better. I can't see how to get into it to tighten it up. I can see where I think you open up the housing, but being plastic I don't know the difference between what snaps open and what breaks apart. Does anyone know how to open it up? Is it a simple fix or a trip to the dealer?

I’d take it in and let the dealer look at it. If you try to fix it and you break something then you will have to buy a new mirror.

Hi jkm312,

Sorry to hear of the concern you are experiencing with your truck. We recommend connecting with your local Ram dealer on this, as they are in the best position to provide assistance. Our team is just a PM away if you need any help with that process.

It's one of those minor things to be taken care of next oil change in the near future before it gets out of hand.

I had the same problem, check my post history. Ram Care took care of me and my dealership ordered a new mirror for me! It's on national backorder but they expedited the claim as its nauesiating to drive and look in the mirror, especially at night it acts like a strobe effect from the headlights to the rear.

Just got mine back today. Driver mirror glass fell out one day after work. 2500 miles. Ordered just glass under warranty. Has three set sets wires connected to back of glass. Then checking it out noticed that when folding mirrors in they make contact with glass and bind. Can hear motor straining. May be what broke the clips that held the last mirror glass. Drive for a week and a half with no driver mirror.
1st year models. Guess you are only allowed to fold mirrors with windows down. Sure I will be going back one day.
