Man. I thought I was the only one. I've noticed if I kill the ac for a sec then kick it back on it seems to help but it does is seemingly more and more now.

Don't know if this is the same thing or not but on a long trip a couple weeks ago, I noticed something similar to this. Was on a 6 hour trip or so with the family so they were sleeping. Radio was low and just cruising. I notice an increase in wind noise and noticed the air got more humid and warmer. After about a minute, it went away. Then I heard\felt it again. I noticed that the noise would show up for ~ 1 minute every 30 minutes like clock work. A\C was on Auto. I am wondering if to "improve air quality" in the cabin, that recirc turns off for one minute out of every 30. I could predict when that noise would come back.

Wow my problem is the same. I go to de dealer and the technician say don’t see anything because no code. Is very frustrating because the problem do not occur all time. Sometimes 1 or 4 time at the week. Example I driving 1 hour or 30 minutes and the apears the wind noise and the air don’t work properly. In my case when this problem start it was like you but when the time passes is more than repeated. Please if you visit your dealer and find the problem please send me a message and share in the forum to help people with the same problem.

I notice the same thing on longer drives where the doors open up even when I am in recirc. My daughter gets a kick out of it and when she hears the fan sound change she places her head near the vent because she claims it is "super clean air", lol. I also notice that there is a refreshing filtered air smell quality to it but the introduction of warmer more humid air is not something I welcome.

Hi Trones and Alex2014,
We understand your concerns. Being that this situation may be hard to replicate, we recommend driving with someone from the service department if you know how to replicate it. We would also like to help with this process by connecting you with a Case Specialist. Please send us a private message if you plan to go this route.

I think others will say the same, but the issue may not start kicking in until 45 mins to an hour into a trip and most service centers can't afford to have a service member out on the road for that amount of round trip time just on the off chance the issue would trigger.

That issue is different than the whistle noise. I noticed this on a long trip this past week. It's almost like the the truck is dumping the air and bringing new air in.

I believe that when that happens the evaporator is about to freeze up and the HVAC ECU kills the compressor and switches to outside air and a higher fan speed to defrost it.

It's such a common complaint, you'd think @RamCares would run it past some technical people and find out for sure.

If it is working exactly as designed, maybe issue a TSB so that the dealership mechanics can say "Working as Designed" and attach a printout rather than the hated "Unable to Duplicate."

This sounds like a totally logical explanation.

Same issue for me. In an hour drive I will hear it do that once or twice.

I have the plain Tradesman model with the basic manual HVAC controls and I have the same issue.
One assumes that's just the way it works with these newer trucks??

I think this is by system design as others have stated. I've already brought my truck in to the dealer service center regarding the subpar AC temps, even though I knew it would not be rectified other than the AC hack methods mentioned on this site.

I brought it in to simply have it documented with FCA with the hope if enough of us do it, there may be some FCA movement (even though I lost 3 hours doing so o_O).

I'm not going to bring it in for this issue because I know it would burn at least a half a gas tank or more and it will still go to the same AC issue I originally brought the truck in to document. I just wish RAM would have previously tested the trucks in the hot, humid climates so they can understand what a lot of us are now experiencing.

That’s true. FCA needs to understand this.

Totally agreed, 100% percent with you.
FCA have to responde.
