Side Step / Running Board Recommendations Needed...

Just picked up my 2019 Rebel and want to add a Side Step / Running Board since it didn't come with one (didn't really like the stock one...mostly plastic). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Needs to be black since the Rebel has no chrome (which I'm not a fan of, chrome that is). Any pics?

BTW, a friend of mine does off road mods for Jeeps and other trucks so he can get most parts at dealer price. Just looking to see what's out there.

Thanks.

Go rhino rb20s. Love them so far. Easy to install as well.

I'm in the same boat, I am considering the stock one and the RB20.

I mainly want the running boards to protect the lower rockers and rear fender from rock chips from the front tire. This seems to be a major issue with the 2019 RAMs, could be especially an issue with the stock 33" tires Rebels come with. Mud flaps from what I understand won't be enough. A solid (non auto) running board is recommended for that, unless you decide to have PPF installed to protect from rock chips instead.

I also would like running boards for some of my shorter family members to enter the cab and also to be able to wash the roof of the truck more easily.

The stock running board is made out of aluminum with plastic trim, seems to be a good overall design that matches the asthetic of the truck. I like the RB20 also, but just worried it seems a little too wide, which will look a little akward for a stock truck. But looking at Rebel#71 pics, I think it maybe just fine. Looks awesome on his truck.

I have the Mopar that came with my Rebel. I’m happy.

Make sure you go file for this additional rebate. Seems like they have been having problems with vin numbers being in the system so you have to call them so they send you the actual app. Do it within 60 days of purchase. Many of us have already received our checks. No strings attached.

The only qualification is that “someone in your household” must have a non-FCA vehicle.

Hi,

New member here and purchased the 2019 RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab with Sport Appearance Package last weekend. I have been shopping around for a side step / running board that was reasonable and ended up getting the Tyger side step from Amazon. In addition, the dealership gave me a $50 gift card which I used for this purchase.

I have included the link of the item below and pictures of my truck before and after the install.

It’s a rebate
Thanks, I applied for it. I had a little difficulty where it asks for an association since I don't have Allstate insurance or credit union. I ended up chosing the employer option and it accepted the application.

I'll second these. I put a set on my truck a few weeks ago and the look and perform great. Very good alternative to more pricey options.

I did the go rhino dominator d6’s. I liked the look more than the rb20’s.

I went with the Go Rhino RB20. Easy Install and looks great. It's also quite wide, which I do like (less likely to get door dings from those parking lot idiots, especially car owners). I got it with the bed liner coating (cost a little more but I think well worth it).

I have a question for everybody. How did y’all get the paint off the bolts to mount the bracket to the truck?

I just pushed the nut in and started turning while applying some pressure. Eventually it bites and start to thread. I had one which required a little more pressure but got it in. I guess you can also use a knife or something similar to scrape off the excess at the tip to where the nut will bite and catch the threads. As you thread the nut, the excess paint comes off.
