As reported the new HD trucks are coming out as brand new 2020 models , just curious are the gen 4 HD trucks done as of the 2018 model year and no 2019's?, or are some trims coming back as classics HD, like the gen 4 1500?

2019 HDs will continue to be the 4th Gen truck and will likely start production soon.

I did some research on fleet manager sites they show the last orders for 2018 HD as the second week of Oct, and the middle of Nov for the order banks opening up for the new trucks with production starting 1/2/19, Strange they would not have kept building the gen 4 trucks without any production gaps.

That's odd that they're changing over so late, usually it's a July/August production switch over.

So the order banks opening in Nov. will be for the 2019 gen 4 trucks, intro of the new 2020's in Jan. 2019 at the Detroit auto show. with ordering for them at a later date? (I would like to order a gen 4 g56 and get the last year of it, just want to make sure I dont miss out if I should order a 2018.) or that they are planning on building 2019 gen 4 trucks.

That would be my guess, although I have heard rumors that production will be starting very quickly on the 2020 models after the introduction. That isn't confirmed though. The 2019 model year for the HDs could be very short.

Thanks, my dealer has talked to two Ram reps with different answers, one with 2019 will be out as a gen 4 with minimal changes, the other one said 2018 gen 4 build out to Jan 2019, and the brand new truck going forward.

I do have additional information, my salesman talked to the Ram regional rep for the upper midwest on July 3rd, many questions later, many questions remain, he did confirm the 2018 gen 4 HD will be built through Dec. 2018, The new HD's will be introduced in Jan 2019 with orders taken soon after, with dealers seeing them in March/April. He said he has not heard anything on a HD classic, or what year the new body style will be. He did caveat that it is along way to go to January and many things can change, and so it continues...

I am also thinking about this same dilemma.

I want a G56 4th gen, and knowing the 5th gen won't offer it makes me feel I need it.

So if ordering starts in November guess I better start making this decision.

I don't know if I would chance it that late, I'm leaning towards ordering the end of Sept., might not see a 2019 gen 4, and that close to build out options and colors might be limited.

I like the red one!, three pedals and two sticks!, Wish the 3500's optioned the off road package, here in MN. I have non -commercial lic. plates (one ton only) $122 a year, 2500's they are treated as passenger vehicles $750 a year, (based on vehicle base price).

The granite crystal got me. Going to look at purchasing one.

Have we had anymore confirmation on the 2019 HD will be able to be ordered.

The 2019 Ram 1500 classic is available now...Was kinda hoping if I decide that I have to have 4.10 gears, I would order a 2019...

The two trucks I posted here would be great if they were long beds.

Based on the fleet guide the HD ordering opens on November 19th with production start of January 2nd of 2019. Ordering for 2018s is open until the 17th of this month.
