I'm considering buying a 2019 Laramie or Limited, but this thread is troublesome and I haven't even starting looking at other complaints. I bought a fairly early production Tesla Model 3 and it has fit and finish issues and wind issues of its own. Before I bought the car I was reading forum posts about various issues with early production Model 3s. I ended up experiencing many of the same issues I read about on the Tesla forums. I'm not sure I want to spend time trying to diagnose RAMs fit and finish issues and then have to battle with a dealer to try to resolve it. Based on the posts in this thread, Tesla seems much more willing to remedy these types of issues and my experience with Tesla was still time consuming and very annoying considering the amount of money spent. Like the Model 3 the new 1500 has all kinds of cool tech, looks and rides great, I'm just going to have to think about this purchase a little more. I will definitely not sign a contract until I have test drove the truck on the highway at 80+. I really hope RAM can resolve these issues at a manufacturing level and fix issues for current owners. I would not get too hung up on the problem issues in this forum.
I have the 2019 Limited 4x4 with Air Suspension, Off Road Group, 12" touch screen, Advanced Safety group, Panoramic sunroof, etc. and everything has been perfect so far except for the wind noise from the sunroof. The sunroof problem was fixed and now everything is perfect. I am very happy I got the pano sunroof, it is huge and my wife and I like lots of light and sunshine - we even have a bigger one in our Lincoln.
Some say the air suspension and the 12" screen can be a problem but having these contributed to why I bought the truck and I believe there aren't a lot of issues and I love the features.
For anyone that doesn't want to take the risk on a first year of a new generation can always buy a beautiful 2018 leftover if they can find one they like.
There are now so many new 2019 Rams out there and only a fraction are having any serious problems. Plus they have been out for a year now so many of the earlier problems are hopefully figured out and taken care of.
