5thGenRams has learned that the all new 2019 Ram 1500 equipped with the EcoDiesel will begin production in the Summer of 2019. While we don’t know much about the changes the EcoDiesel is going to get for the 2019 Model year we have heard a few tidbits from insiders.
First expect the 2019 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel to come standard with Electric Start Stop technology as it does in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler “JL”. We also know that Ram wants to stay at the top of the heap for power and efficiency with the new EcoDiesel fighting off Ford and GM’s new half ton diesel trucks. We are expecting the new EcoDiesel to at least match the Wranglers specs of 260hp and 442lb ft of torque, but we have heard from one insider that we just might be shocked at what FCA is able to get out of the little 3.0 EcoDiesel.
