The wheels are set in motion for the much-anticipated 2025 Ram 1500 series as the production gears up to begin. Scheduled to roll off the assembly line at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) on February 5th, 2024, this newest addition promises a noteworthy overhaul from its predecessors.

One of the striking shifts in the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup is the introduction of the all-new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE I6 engine family, replacing the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI® V8. This change aims to amplify the truck’s standard power, performance, and fuel efficiency, catering to a broader spectrum of drivers.

The internal combustion-powered 2025 Ram 1500 offers customers three engine options, including the all-new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE S/O and H/O I6 engines, as well as the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with the eTorque mild-hybrid system. While the Pentastar specs haven’t changed, the new HURRICANE S/O is rated at 420 horsepower and 469 lb.-ft. of torque, while the H/O engine is rated at 540 horsepower and 521 lb.-ft. of torque. Capability includes a maximum towing capacity of 11,580 pounds, a maximum payload of 2,300 pounds, and up to 24 inches of water fording.

Beyond the hood modifications, the exterior design of the 2025 Ram 1500 signals a departure towards a more contemporary and aerodynamic outlook. With upgraded LED headlamps, a bolder grille, and refined taillamps across various trims, the truck maintains its signature robust aesthetic while embracing a sleeker appearance.

Adding to its utility, the 2025 Ram 1500 boasts enhanced features like the power open/close tailgate with obstacle detection, offering greater convenience for users. Meanwhile, the lineup continues to showcase its cargo-management prowess with the available RamBox system, incorporating lockable, illuminated storage bins and a pickup bed divider.

Encompassing a diverse array of models, the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup caters to varied preferences and requirements. Joining the ranks are the work-ready Tradesman, the Big Horn/Lone Star ideal for everyday utility, the off-road prowess of the Rebel, the luxury-oriented Laramie, the Western-themed Limited Longhorn, the premium Limited, and the new ultra-premium Tungsten variant. This expansive selection ensures that every driver finds a Ram 1500 tailored to their needs and desires.

An interesting revelation from insider sources confirms the imminent phasing out of the HEMI-powered models. The last hurrah for enthusiasts eyeing the HEMI-powered Ram is marked for Friday, February 2nd, 2024, just before the new series takes the stage. This news might resonate with those cherishing the iconic HEMI legacy, urging them to consider making their move before the impending shift in production.
