This morning at the North American International Autoshow (NAIAS) awards were given out for the North American car, utility vehicle, and truck of the year. These awards are decided by a group of roughly 50 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada who work for independent magazines, television, radio, newspapers and industry websites. To be eligible a vehicle must be all new or substantially changed for that model year, eligible vehicles are identified, tested, and compared to the competition by roughly 50 judges. After the testing regimen ended and all ballots were collected the 2019 Ram 1500 came out on top for North American Truck Of The Year.
“The Ram 1500 is an important product for FCA and winning this award is one of the highest honors,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. “In what is arguably the most competitive segment in the automotive industry, for the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 to be named North American Truck of the Year is tremendous recognition of the FCA employees who design, engineer and build a pickup that truly stands out.”
The Ram 1500 last won the North American Truck Of The Year Award in 2013 after an extensive refresh. The NACTOY awards are presented every year at NAIAS.
